I had been sleeping on a waveless waterbed for the last 41 years, but I could no longer deal with cleaning under the bed and emptying it to have new flooring installed. So, buying a conventional mattress was very traumatic! I visited one bedding store and tested the Stearns and Foster mattresses in various firmnesses. I was surprised that the Estate mattress in Firm would be the most comfortable, but I knew as soon as I laid upon it that it was perfect. What sealed the deal was the ability to have an adjustable bed frame, allowing me to raise the head and feet of the mattress. I had to buy new fitted sheets because of the depth of the mattress, but it was a small price to pay for the added comfort.
I love sitting up in bed and reading or watching television. It is so comfortable that I have totally forgotten about my old waterbed.
By the way, the freight company who delivered the bed had the nicest people install it in my upstairs bedroom. Plus, they hauled away my old (empty) waterbed!
I have been telling my friends about my experience ordering the Stearns and Foster mattress online and definitely recommend it.

I was so excited to splurge and purchase this mattress. It was always on my dream mattress list. In my "trial" period I thought this mattress was suiting my needs.. My back was slightly stiff but I could do as I thought I was adjusting. Around my expiration time.. My back became more and more stiff and painful.. Would wake me up in then early morning hours. I finally disrobed the bed and took a yard stick to it. Sure enough it was holding a sag around my shoulders and upper back. I called and they said submit a warranty claim... I wa denied because the sag was 1 inch not 1.5 inches.. Even though the mattress was not even 4 mo old. After I rotated mattress to get out of the hole.. And pain continues. This mattress definitely helps pressure points, I cannot complain there, but good lord my middle and lower back are killing me.. Literally wakes me up throbbing. It is just too firm. After spending 4k on this mattress I still have to add a topper I have on order. I am so very very disappointed..and am stuck. I highly suggest if you have ANY cause for concern prior to the 90 days turn it in, bc otherwise they won't help you. To stand behind a mattress that holds a 1 inch sag (at the shoulders no less.. Not the heaviest part of the hips) with no rebound at less than 4 mo old... It's really concerning. This is not a top of the line matress like it use to be.
